About campaign
Health moves humanity forward. Better health means stronger communities, growing markets, and developing economies. At the core of every successful society is equitable access to health care and services. We reach beyond international borders and across oceans to bring FREE accessible healthcare to underserved communities in Mali, Africa. Mali is currently experiencing a massive health crisis. It ranks 184 out of 189 on the Human Development Index, and only 11% of the population has access to health services. Embrace Relief’s Clinic Gaoussou Fofana offers free health checkups and free cataract surgery in Bamako, the capital city of Mali. A staggering 2.2 million people suffer from vision impairment which is mainly caused by cataracts. Children as young as 6-years-old are losing their sight to this preventable and treatable eye disease. We have seen firsthand that access to healthcare services boosts economies, improves infrastructure, increases school attendance, and educates families on how to stay safe and healthy, which helps communities break the cycle of extreme poverty. Our teams are passionate. Our doctors are dedicated. Our patients are resilient. Together, we are working towards a better, more inclusive future. Join us in our mission to give the gift of sight to the people of Mali and donate today. A donation of $100 includes: Pre-operation health checkup Consultation Cataract surgery for one eye Patients receive free food and water on day of operation Post-operation checkup Health checkups for 15 other people
