Our Cure Cataracts campaign is currently located in Mali, Africa. With a population of 18M, only 1.8M have access to adequate healthcare due to an insufficient number of licensed medical professionals, modes of transportation, and resources. The lack of access to proper healthcare in Mali has left millions with undiagnosed illnesses and diseases that often become fatal. Every $100 donation covers the cost of a pre-operation health screening, one cataract surgery, a post-operation check-up, a hot meal to help the patient recover, and health screenings for 15 other people. We currently have three (3) health clinic facilities located in and around the capital city of Bamako. We also have two (2) mobile health units that travel to remote communities to conduct health screenings, cataract surgeries, and dental procedures. If an illness or disease is diagnosed, the mobile unit’s medical professionals guide the patient to the appropriate facilities to receive the required treatment.
