We are destigmatizing mental health in Romania, one school at a time. Through interactive workshops, we are teaching students all over the country how to spot signs of mental illness, how to manage anxiety and stress, and how to seek external help when needed.
Mental Health for Romania is an organisation dedicated to improving mental health in Romania. Many teenagers in Romania struggle with their mental health, yet the topic is still taboo in Romanian schools, and there is close to zero education on the topic. We have devised a series of workshops to reduce the stigma against mental illness and inform teenagers about common mental health conditions like anxiety or depression, while at the same time teaching them ways to get support if they struggle.
Each sweatcoin given will help our volunteers deliver the workshop to another student and equip them with the tools they need to take care of their mental health!
Without any government funds allocated to this sector, the NGO-s in Romania carry the entire weight of educating and supporting a population who is struggling to keep up with the aftermath of the pandemic and more recently, the war in the neighbouring Ukraine.
