This year, Thrive for Good with support from Sweatcoin, is partnering with the non-profit organization InSIDE-North East which is a group of passionate youth who have stepped outside of their comfort zone.
Together, the organizations plan to develop 20 community garden projects that will impact 1,000 people.
If the target of every Sweatcoin for Good Campaign is met, over the next 12 months, the following impact will be created:
- 1,000 people will have access to healthy, nutritious, disease-fighting foods.
- 20 community garden projects will be created and maintained in hostels, schools, communities and churches.
- 3 Growing Health Champions will be trained and certified by Thrive for Good.
But why?
Conflict and violence in North East India have caused lots of damage to women, children and youth. For example, youngsters living with substance abuse and guns. The questions, ‘How long should people suffer like this?’ ‘Why don’t we do something to mitigate the suffering?’ are what ultimately led to the formation of InSIDE-North East. The organization provides support to communities by offering counseling, career guidance, coaching, talent hunt, skills training, workshops, peace concerts, and Youth conferences.
Their emphasis on women's empowerment through the promotion of micro-enterprises is a commendable aspect of their work. Recognizing the pivotal role of empowered mothers in uplifting entire families underscores a holistic understanding of community development. It's not only about addressing immediate issues but also creating sustainable change by empowering women who, in turn, can contribute significantly to the well-being of their families and communities.

Purpose

Origins
In 2004, we realized the need to improve health in Malawi at an orphanage we helped build. The children were cared for but lacked proper nutrition. Surrounded by uncultivated land, we saw the potential to grow nutritious food. We founded a non-profit, Organics 4 Orphans, and developed organic farming methods and holistic health education. Teaching others to share this knowledge led to a movement for growing health. This approach helps people escape poverty and improves their health. Our training center in Kenya is funded by donations from Natural Calm Canada, ensuring all public donations directly support Life Gardens. Now called Thrive for Good, our goal is to transform the health of 1 million people by 2025.
